Kent School District recently reported that Kent Meridian High School was one of three local schools to receive retired training equipment from the Seattle Seahawks.

The Seahawks reported that the weight training center at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center was recently renovated during their off-season. Other recipients of the removed equipment included Chief Sealth International and Rainier Beach high schools.

Schools received a variety of exercise equipment, including leg-press machines and free weights.

The Seahawks reported that KM Football Coach Justin Callendar was thrilled. “I feel like we hit the lottery. We were recently able to buy some new racks for the free weights through ASB and athletic. But we did not have good bumper plates and other machines. They were falling apart,” said Callendar
